Sweaty News: Final Four to be Presented in 3-D
Alright, that’s enough. Just stop it.
This new 3-D fad is really starting to get out of hand for me. Apparently it was cool for Avatar (haven’t seen it), and I guess people liked it for Alice in Wonderland (probably won’t see it), but news that LG plans to help produce the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 3-D is just downright gross.
In order to promote it’s upcoming line of 3-D HDTVs, LG is partnering up with the NCAA and CBS Sports to offer the two national semifinal games in over 100 movie theaters across the country in this "enhanced" format.
Since I haven’t actually seen a movie in 3-D, one could argue that I’m not exactly the best person to report so smugly on this. But in a sport where broadcasts show lots of armpits and lots of sweat, a month from now I think I will be on the right side of history.
At least they’re not showing the women’s tourney in 3-D.

why dont we first worry about broadcasting everything in normal HD
i went to the panasonic new products demo that was set up in the chicago tribune building yesterday, and i have to say, the 3d tvs look pretty sweet. you have to wear the glasses, but it looks way better than the theater (sharper, great contrast). obviously, there's barely anything in 3d at the moment, but in a few years this will be in your living room and sports will lead the way. so, what i guess i'm trying to say is, get used to it.
however, i also agree with ackypoo.
